We are registered Course Providers with the Mountain Leader Training Board and are able to deliver Basic Expedition Leader Award (BELA) and arrange Mountain Leader Training, Single Pitch Award (SPA) and Walking Group Leader Award (WGL).
Our High Country First Aid Course fulfils the criteria of the MLTE.

The Mountain Leader Award (Summer) qualifies you to lead groups of hill walkers anywhere in the UK in summer conditions.

There are two steps to this award - On the training course, usually run over 3 weekends, you will learn such skills as group management, navigation, emergency procedures, use of equipment, access, conservation and security on steep ground.

After building up your own log of walks and climbs completed, you will then need to register for assessment - your tutor will discuss this with you.

If you have at least twelve months of hill walking experience and a genuine interest in leading groups in the hills then this course may be for you.
